1965
From Savoie to Bordeaux
Born in 1965, Pierre Montégut grew up in Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Les Arcs), in the heart of the Savoie mountains. He studied at l'ENITA in Bordeaux and at the Institut d'Œnologie de Bordeaux, in Talence.

1988 — 1990
Médoc and Saint-Julien
He began his professional career in red wine vinification at Château Potensac in 1988, then at Château Léoville Las Cases from 1989 to 1990.

1992 — 1998
North to the Loire
Technical director at Clos Baudoin Poniatovski in Vouvray (18 ha) from 1992 to 1995, then at Domaine Lafourcade (36 ha) from 1995 to 1998, where he acquired his extensive knowledge of sweet white wines with the vinification of the famous Quarts de Chaume and Bonnezeaux.

1998 — 2004
Château de Gueyze, Buzet
His early work with red wines gained new impetus when he decided to take charge of a larger estate. He managed this 80-hectare property from 1998 to July 2004.

Château Suduiraut
Technical director of Château Suduiraut (91 ha) since the 2004 harvest, he continues to bring his passion for sweet wines to a historic estate of great renown in the Sauternes region.

2022
Château Pichon Baron
He joined the Château Pichon Baron team in May 2022, following the retirement of Jean-René Matignon. He now holds this position for all three estates: Pichon Baron, Pibran and Suduiraut.
